Thanksgiving: Giving Thanks For All Who Serve

giving thanks thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving, I have a lot to be thankful for.  As a member of the armed forces, I often receive thanks from strangers.  I am grateful for the encouragement, but I wonder:

What about all the others who serve?

  • Nurses
  • Homeschoolers
  • Teachers
  • Mothers
  • Fathers
  • Adoptive Parents
  • Church servants
  • Social Workers
  • Law Enforcement
  • Firefighters
  • Public Servants
  • Missionaries
  • And more. . .

It’s my turn to say “thank you for your service.”

  1. It is all too easy to forget to be grateful for all of the ‘everyday’ service that goes on. Apathy and indifference are indeed the enemy in this. How would it change things if we all began to see and appreciate the hard work and sacrifice that is done by many everyday?

However, I do find myself extra grateful for those of you who serve in the military. The extent of sacrifice and hard, hard work that you do is beyond what most of us will ever have to experience.

May your Thanksgiving day be incredibly blessed, Jason!

    1. Thanks Rebeca, Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Thank you! I’m in the social work crowd. We are cogs between the wheels of in-home care, hospitals, clinics, etc. & help things keep turning 🙂 In turn, our household makes sure to remember that the peace and freedom we enjoy is protected by the lives of soldiers. God bless this Thanksgiving!

    1. Teague, Thank you for all you do. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
